One (out of a few..) good thing about Kenley graduating from SUU, is that the Alumni association holds get togethers every once in a while. We usually don't keep the e-mails the invites come in, but this time we went to the Utah Flash game at UVU in Orem. The Flash are the D-Leauge team for the Utah Jazz. Well, we have been to a few games last year and the boys have so much fun! This year of course we had an extra one to keep entertained. :-) He seemed to enjoy the game too, or at least the atmosphere.
Then there is the issue of the Flash Fox. The boys absolutely love the fox. Last year Konner got to pull it's tail and the fox rubbed Derek's head. They have so much fun looking for the fox and waiting to see where he will show up next. The fox likes to tease the fans (like the picture, he borrowed someone's camera and took a bunch of pictures of the owner and of himself..) Before this on the other side of the court, I saw him take a girl by the hand and get on one knee and kiss her hand and get up and run away. He is just a silly character and great for the kids and the adult I guess... :-)
Yeah, he is pointing at me. A guy that Kenley knows was yelling for him, and he happened to see me with my camera, and pointed at me, winked then he ran away again. Just silly! :-)

These guys right here (# 22) Morris Almond and the guy below him in the picture that has the team, (# 41) Kosta Koufos, are call backs from the Jazz. When they are called back down to the D-League, it's usually because the Jazz don't have enough room on their regular roster, like when a guy comes back from injured-reserve. They are still great athletes and fun to watch.
Knowing Derek, he is probably looking for the fox...

Well, it's Konner's turn. Konner is almost 6. (April 8th). He is in Kindergarten and LOVES it. This boy makes me nervous sometimes though. He is SO smart and bright. He knows too much to be only a 6 year old. He loves math, and reading, and Pokemon. The Pokemon thing is something new and has converted Derek into a Pokemon dork too. They even have "battles" together. It's cute. Konner is a great big brother and a big help to mom and dad. Love You Konner J!!
Konner loves to read almost any kind of book. His favorite books are Dr. Seuss books. Every time we go to Costco we have to look and see if there are any new Dr. Seuss books that he doesn't have. Believe me, he knows which ones he does and doesn't have. Smarty pants...
Konner is a future mathematician. One morning about a month ago, (you do the math) the boys and I brought a book to class for Kenley. Konner walked to the whiteboard and wrote
5 x 7 +2=37.
When he was asked why he did this, he responded, "My birthday is in five weeks and two days. I know there are seven days in a week, so five times seven is thirty-five, plus two is thirty-seven." Kenley then asked Konner (in front of his AP Calculus BC students) what 1,000 x 1,000 was. Konner quickly said, "one million", to which Kenley asked Konner what one million times one million was and Konner said, "one trillion". Needless to say those AP Calculus BC kids were impressed.
